'Lonsdale Ferry 1917" is a hand pulled woodcut print
by Rick Herdman.

This print was featured in a blog post by North Shore Heritage. The writer did an excellent job in researching the background of this print.

"The impressive woodcut print shown above is the work of local artist Rick Herdman. The image shows the Lonsdale Ferry landing in 1917. It comes from a photograph taken by the artist’s great uncle and early Vancouver photographer, William John Moore, 1887-1963. The photo was discovered by the artist among a collection of Moore’s photographs in the basement of the North Vancouver home of the artist’s grandmother."

'Back Country' is a hand pulled woodcut print
by Rick Herdman.

This image is based on the alpine area of Whistler/Backcomb mountain. The mountains are created to look like rough water. This print uses multiple plates and each print has variety in the amount of black in the chip areas and variation in the gradients. Each print is part of a whole and is a unique piece of art.
