Woodcut print of Vancouver History; Colony Farm 1912

Woodcut 11″x48″

I have finished this print and it is now available for purchase. The print is one of the series I am working on following the footsteps of my great uncle, William Moore. He was a photographer in Vancouver area in the early 1900’s. I used to see his photographs in my grandmothers basement. I never met Uncle Bill, but his works influenced my development as an artist. Years later while working on one of my own panoramic prints, I remebered his photos and went exploring them again. I was moved by the idea that he and I separated by nearly 100 years where interacting with our environment in similar ways, traveling in the same footsteps.

I am loosely considering this series as “Imprints in Time. More development of the concept is needed. I am enjoying this journey.
